While keeping many journals throughout her childhood, Danielle began stringing words together at age 13. In the beginning, her journals were filled with hidden expression but throughout the years, it has become her art of joy.
Danielle was born on August 22, 1987 in Atmore, Alabama. She is a graduate of Troy University's Hall School of Journalism and Communication and is currently a Web Director and Reporter at a local news station in Dothan, Alabama. After publishing her first book, Danielle conducted a forum for Troy University's English Department based on the background of her book. She's shared her poetry and encouraged teens as a guest speaker at the Southeast Alabama Diversion Center. She's also been a mentor to the kids of Girls Inc. of Dothan, teaching creative writing classes for the organization's Summer 2014 program. Danielle's favorite writers that have paved the way for her pen are Langston Hughes and Maya Angelou. |
